The Gateway Grizzlies are ready to open the doors to their newest addition at GCS Ballpark, Grizzlies Baseball Academy.

The Academy, which is located in the U.S. Cellular Kid’s Zone is set to open Wednesday, January 7th. It features a three-cage setup for both hitting and pitching instructions and facility rental.

Grizzlies Baseball Academy, which is owned and operated by Grizzlies Manager Phil Warren and Bench Coach Darin Kinsolving consists of instructors within the Grizzlies organization. Instructors include Warren and Kinsolving, along with Pitching Coach Randy Martz, former first-basemen Mike Breyman, and pitchers Joel Boeschen and James Hertel.

In addition to instructional work, Grizzlies Baseball Academy also provides the latest technology in hitting, the ProBatter PX2 Professional Baseball System. The PX2 combines Major League quality pitching with life-size images of actual pitchers throwing realistic pitches, all integrated through computer controls. It is also adjustable to suit all age ranges and skills.

"Darin and I are extremely excited about the newest edition of the Gateway Grizzlies baseball experience," said Grizzlies Manager Phil Warren. "We are eager to begin offering our services to the Metro east area. Grizzlies Baseball Academy will operate and continue to uphold the image of the Gateway Grizzlies and follow their lead to offer the Metro East area an affordable, professional, and fun experience."
