Instructor Spotlight - Shaun Seibert

Shaun Seibert is an Edwardsville, IL native.  He played high school baseball at Edwardsville High School (EHS).  Seibert competed in two State Tournaments (2002 and 2004) at EHS.  After high school, Shaun Seibert continued his baseball and academic career at the University of Arkansas (2004-2008).  After the 2005 baseball season, Seibert was named Freshman All-American (5-3, 3.60 ERA, 19 APP, 60 IP, 52 K, 31 BB).  Following the 2006 season with the Razorbacks (4-0, 2.79 ERA, 17 APP, 61.1 IP, 62 K, 15 BB), Seibert went on to pitch in the Cape Cod Baseball League.  During the Summer of ’06 Seibert earned Cape Cod Pitcher of the Year recognition (6-0, 0.39 ERA, 8 GS, 45.2 IP, 36 K, 28 BB).  Shaun finished his baseball career at Arkansas in 2008 (Career:  11-4, 3.91 ERA, 55 APP, 165.2 IP, 156 K, 79 BB) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree with a concentration in Kinesiology.

Seibert joined the Gateway Grizzlies during the 2008 season.  He pitched for the Grizzlies during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.  After finishing his baseball-playing career, Shaun attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville to earn teaching certification in Illinois.  During his time at SIUE, Seibert served as a student manager with the SIUE Men’s Baseball team under Bo Collins.

Seibert then began a career in education with the Edwardsville School District.  While employed for seven years (2010-2017) by ECUSD as a physical education teacher, Seibert was also a member of Edwardsville’s baseball coaching staff.  He coached Middle School Baseball for Edwardsville during the Fall seasons, and coached High School Baseball during the Spring and Summer seasons.
